                                    ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

                                                AUGUST 13, 2012

10:00 A.M.      Called meeting to order. Present: Paula B. Keefe, Richard B. Gorden,

                        Ellen W. Abelson and Mark J. Mazur.

1. The Board took the following actions on Fiscal Year 2013 applications

for exemption for the owners of the following parcels:

2. The Board signed a lien release for parcel 102-135-2.

3.         The Board reviewed a letter from an attorney accepting our settlement

offer in an Appellate Tax board case. The Board then granted a Fiscal Year 2011 abatement in final settlement of their appeal for parcel 97-2. Their Fiscal Year 2012 appeal was withdrawn without an abatement being granted as part of the settlement agreement.

4.       The Board reviewed some correspondence with a taxpayer concerning

his motor vehicle excise abatements.

5.         The Board and Director of Finance, William Fowler, discussed the tax status of an exempt entity that was assessed as partially taxable for FY 2012.  Since the circumstances that made them partially taxable have changed, the Board has approved seeking a payment in lieu of taxes agreement (PILOT) with the organization.

6.         The Board expressed its appreciation for being invited to an Annual                    Interfaith Iftar Dinner at the Islamic Center.

7.       The Board decided they would hold their next Board meeting at

10:00 A.M. on Wednesday September 12, 2012.

8.       The Board discussed the FY 2013 assessments of one particular

      neighborhood.
